being, needs, and

seeking, sees.

sight inspires

want, desires,

listening, hears

in naïve ears

the question asked—

requested task—

a simple touch;

he asks too much.

but need–or want–would cloud the mind

and smear the once defined lines

and her once clear, far-seeing eyes

blindfolded by naïveté

are useless, and the conscience, spurned,

can give no wise nor reas’ning word

by deafened ears to e’er be heard.

the once-strong will has crumbled fast

the boundries, passed.

the broken bonds–

the thief has only come to steal;

the gift is going,
