Last week I was driving to the grocery store when something peculiar caught my eye; it was written on the sign belonging to that large arcade/Fun Zone sort of place which was typically available for birthdays, bar-mitzvahs, wedding receptions (why on earth…?) quinceañeras, and the like. Today the sign was celebrating the last of these examples, or so it would appear–though the message displayed in those monstrous magnetic letters didn’t quite say, I believe, what they were intended to:


And I wondered to myself at what a difference a tilde makes, and thought about poor Rosa Clara, of whom the entire city now had far too much information.
